Headless body found near railway tracks in Siwan
Patna: A headless body was recovered near railway tracks in Siwan district on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Meraaj, 40, a resident of Sikanderpur village under Maharajganj police station area.
Family members said that Meraaj was disabled in one arm and was on his way to Gorakhpur for medical treatment. They alleged that he was killed. Further investigation is going on, the police said.
Meraaj's body was recovered near Chhanp railway crossing. Upon receiving information from a railway track man, GRP station in charge Ramesh Kumar arrived at the spot and took possession of the body. The police sent the body for an autopsy.
GRP station in charge Ramesh Kumar said, "A railway track man informed them about a decapitated body lying near the railway track at the Champ railway crossing. Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot, where they recovered the body near the railway tracks. The head was found separated from the torso."
He said Meraaj was from Maharajganj. The police are also investigating the incident from a suicide angle.
